Selepas tadarusan dari Masjid dibulan Ramadhan kali ini tiba-tiba ingin sekali menginstal sistem
operasi berbasis Linux. Alhamdulillah perangkat
target untuk penginstalan udah ada yaitu memanfaatkan komputer desktop lama yang jarang saya pakai :). Tahap awalpun dimulai, yap yap sistem
operasi Linux kali ini adalah sabily Uhud, pemburningan dimulai dengan menggunakan flashdisk via netbook dan unetbootin. Setelah menunggu beberapa menit bootable sabilypun udah selesai jadi.
beranjak ke tahap selanjutnya prosesi penginstalan, awalnya sih maunya instal ubuntu Trusty Tahr tapi ada kendala tiba2 RAM komputernya mati satu terus terjadi BAD BIOS :( jadi tidak memenuhi minimum requirements bila diinstal ubuntu, mau ndak mau harus ngebongkar.
Permasalahan udah selesai teratasi komputerpun udah kembali normal dengan sisa RAM separo giga, penginstalan dimulai. Sembari menunggu selesainya penginstalan baca-baca novel dulu, tak lama kemudian selesai dah Sabily Uhud terinstal dan siap digunakan. Lama menggunakan Sabily rasanya kok kaya ada yang kurang ya, hehem internetnya belum diaktifin. Sekarang saatnya mencari referensi langkah-langkah menginstall modem di Ubuntu. Modem yang
saya gunakan saat ini adalah modem Smartfren CE682, setelah browsing beberapa jam akhirnya terkumpul enam referensi langkah-langkah menginstal modem
Smartfren CE682 di Ubuntu. Saatnya mencobanya satu-persatu dan
alhamdulillah dari keenam referensi itu ada satu yang bisa
diterapkan.
Berikut
langkah-langkah menginstall modem Smartfren CE682 yang telah saya
praktekkan dan hasilnya berhasil :
1. Pertama
download paket software disini.
Kemudian
buat sebuah folder di direktori home dengan nama
paket. Kemudian ekstrak file yang telah didownload tadi kedalam folder paket tersebut.
2. Lalu masuk kefolder paket yang telah dibuat tadi dengan mengetikkan perintah seperti dibawah ini:

3. Kemudian install paket-paket tersebut dengan mengetikkan perintah di terminal seperti di bawah ini:

4. Setelah
proses selesai kemudian cek dulu dmseg-nya dengan perintah "dmesg

15. Langkah
terakhir coba koneksikan dengan perintah:

Kalau
sudah mendapat ip addrees harusnya sudah bisa browsing internet. Sekarang
masalahnya setiap ingin konek, modem kita colokkan, kita harus eject
CD-ROM, load kernel dll. Nah biar cepat kita buat launcher bash
script, caranya buat file baru ekstensi .sh di letakkan di direktori Home, misalnya smart.sh isi file tersebut dengan baris perintah seperti dibawah ini :
